Blizzcon rained down upon Orange County this weekend as thousands of fans from all over flocked to the Anaheim Convention Center to see indulge themselves in Blizzard Entertainment’s numerous offerings. The event featured sneak peeks of original game artwork, greater-than-lifesize replicas of favorite characters, exhibition matches and tournaments,  fanciful cosplayers, Q&A sessions, and—of course—LAN parties. The highlight of the event featured contests with prizes totaling over $25,000 and a  concert with the comedy rock duo Tenacious D. Staff photographer Nick Vu was there to cover the extravaganza.

The Anaheim Convention center was filled with all things Blizzard Entertainment for two days.
Blizzcon became a gamer's haven on October 22 and 23.
Games were available for all fans.
Amazing recreations of characters from Blizzard's many games livened up the event, like this one of Starcraft's Sarah Kerrigan.
The event had a huge turnout with fans from all around the world, an estimate of almost 50,000 people, gathering for this event.
Comedian Jay Mohr and Kat Hunter were this year's emcees of the ever-popular contest portion of the convention.
Fans were encouraged to strut their stuff, including Christina Estrada who won the costume competition dressed as Diablo III's female monk.
Prizes ran up to $25,000 for lucky winners, such as Min-Soo Jung aka "NEXGENIUS" who won 1st place in the Starcraft II tournament.
Tenacious D brought the house down with a lively set which included the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums.
