No. 4 ranked UCI men’s volleyball returned to the Bren to face USC for the first time since the Trojan’s handed them their second loss of the year. The ‘Eaters were able to avenge their loss to the Trojans Saturday night.

The UC Irvine men’s basketball team faced off against Big West Conference opponent UC Riverside this past Saturday in hopes of extending their two-game winning streak, following their  victories on the road against Cal State Northridge and Hawaii. By Henry Curi

The UC Irvine men’s basketball team matched up against Big West Conference rival Long Beach State this past Wednesday in a game that had both teams rolling to start the season, coming off a win from each of their previous match-ups.

On January 10, UC Irvine Men’s basketball team faced off against conference rival UC Davis Aggies at home. It was the first regular season game for both teams, who have had intense and deciding match-ups in the previous two seasons.

UCI closes out winter break with an 85-74 win over the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The ‘Eaters improved to 12-4 after taking two tough losses on the road during winter break to Butler 54-71 and Pacific 75-84 in overtime.

UCI beat the University of Montana basketball team on Dec. 8 after an arduous but well-played neck-and-neck race to the final buzzer.

UCI fell to Utah State on Dec. 1 in one of their most anticipated preseason home games. Utah, second seed in the Mountain West Conference, was expected to make for good competition, having only lost one game. However, their defense and consistent shooting locked out UCI to a 63-87 defeat.

After eclipsing the Antelopes in the first round of the NCAA tournament, the ‘Eaters took on the defending NCAA champs Stanford, but lost 0-2 after giving up two goals late in the game.

The Anteaters faced the Cal State Northridge Matadors on Oct. 25, ending in a powerful 3-1 victory.

November 6th is a date that should be marked on everyone's calendars. As dutiful citizens take pride in exercising their civic duty in this upcoming midterm election, students across the country gear up to cheer on their schools for the next 5 months in what could be the most exciting period in sports.

To kick off their 2018-2019 season, the UCI Anteaters hosted the University of Idaho Vandals.

Despite playing away from home and conceding a goal early in the second-half, UC Irvine Men’s Soccer was able to claw their way back to their third consecutive win in the Big West Conference.
